Insurance & Waivers
We carry $5M commercial general liability cover, we can name your venue on it, and every single person who steps onto the pitch signs a waiver first. All three are non-negotiable.

What we carry
BUBL holds $5,000,000 in commercial general liability cover, in force for every booking we run, anywhere in our service area. It covers our operations, our staff and our equipment while we are working at your event.
It is one of the reasons we can work in city parks, school gyms and community centres at all — almost every one of them requires proof of it before they will let an activity provider through the gate.
Certificates and additional insured
Venues often want more than a number. City of Victoria park event permits, school districts and recreation centres usually ask to be named as an additional insured on our policy, and to hold a certificate of insurance on file.
We do that at no charge. To get it right first time, send us:
- The exact legal name of the venue or municipality, spelled the way they want it
- Any wording they require on the endorsement
- The date, times and address of the booking
- Who the certificate should be emailed to
Give us at least 10 working days. Certificates come from our broker, not from a drawer in our van, and a park permit that is refused on the Friday cannot be fixed on the Saturday.
What that insurance does not do
This matters, so it is in plain words: our policy is liability cover for us. It is not accident or medical insurance for the people playing.
- It does not pay out for an injury that happens without anybody being at fault — which is most sports injuries.
- It does not cover phones, glasses, watches or anything else brought to the session.
- It does not replace a venue’s own insurance, or an event policy you may need for a larger event.
- It does not replace personal health cover. BC residents have MSP; visitors from outside the province should have their own travel medical insurance.
If personal accident cover matters to your group — a club, a corporate team, a school trip — arrange it the way you would for any other sport.
The waiver
Every participant signs one. It goes out as a digital link when your booking is confirmed, takes about two minutes, and can also be signed on site on the day.
No waiver, no bubble. There is no version of this where your host waves someone through, however long they have driven or however awkward it is at the time.
Anyone who steps onto the playing area needs one, not only the people wearing suits. That includes the parent who wants one game and the colleague who joins in at the end.
Players under 19
- Who signs
- A parent or legal guardian, before the session. A birthday host cannot sign for other people’s children, and neither can a coach.
- Schools and youth groups
- We work with your district’s or organisation’s own consent process where you have one. Send it to us when you book and we will fit around it rather than duplicating it.
- On the day
- A responsible adult stays on site for the whole session. Your host is running games, not supervising children.
- Staff checks
- Tell us at the time of booking what your organisation requires of visiting activity providers and we will tell you straight away what we can supply.
What you are actually signing
The waiver is short. In plain English, it says that you:
- understand bubble soccer is a physical contact activity that carries a real risk of injury
- confirm you are medically fit to take part and have declared anything relevant
- agree to follow the safety rules and your host’s instructions
- accept the ordinary risks of taking part, and release BUBL from claims arising from them
- choose separately, by ticking a box, whether we may use photos or video of you
It does not sign away rights you cannot sign away under British Columbia law, and it does not cover our own negligence. You are given a copy of what you signed.
The information on the waiver
A waiver collects a name, an age or date of birth, an emergency contact and anything medical you tell us that affects play. We use it for that booking, and to hand to paramedics if we ever have to.
How long we keep it, where it is stored and who can see it are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Schools, municipalities and corporate clients
Procurement and facilities teams generally need a small pack of paperwork before an activity provider is approved. Tell us what your process asks for when you enquire — certificate of insurance, additional insured endorsement, WorkSafeBC clearance, a safety plan, a risk assessment, staff checks — and we will tell you plainly what we can provide and how quickly.
Weekday school and community bookings are some of our favourite work, and the paperwork is never the reason one falls through.
If you need to make a claim
Report it to your host on the day so it goes in the incident report while everyone involved is still standing there. Then email info@bubblesoccerrentals.com with the booking date and what happened.
We will give you our insurer's details and the incident report, and we will not make you chase us for either.
Not covered here?
Ask a person. We answer enquiries within one working day, and we would much rather explain something before you book than argue about it afterwards.
